Call for Abstracts

The Scientific Subcommittee of the Eighth Pan-Pacific Nursing Conference cum Second Cochrane Hong Kong Symposium cordially invites you to submit abstracts for oral/poster presentations. The conference is an opportunity for nurses and healthcare professionals like you to showcase their research and best practice. You are encouraged to submit abstracts that relate to the conference theme “The Future of Nursing: Innovation and Impact in Action” and one of the sub-themes listed below. We look forward to receiving your abstracts.

Abstracts for oral/poster presentations relating to any of the following conference sub-themes are invited:

  • Advancing Nursing through Technologies and Big Data Analytics: Utilising technologies and big data to enhance nursing practice, improve patient outcomes, and drive healthcare innovation.
  • Education and Professional Development: Future directions for nursing education, including simulation, online learning, competency-based training, and lifelong learning opportunities.
  • Evidence-based Practice for Quality Improvement: Using systematic approaches to identify and apply the best available evidence for practice change or quality improvement in nursing and health care.
  • Genomic and Genetic Innovation in Nursing: Exploring how advancements in genomics are shaping personalised patient care, risk assessment and treatment strategies in nursing practice.
  • Health Equity in Nursing: Issues related to health disparities and innovations to promote health equity in nursing practice and healthcare services.
  • Health Policy and Advocacy: Critical roles that nurses play in shaping healthcare policy and advocating for health equity and better health for all.
  • Innovations in Healthcare: Any innovative approaches for advancing primary, secondary and tertiary care.
  • Interdisciplinary Care: Strategies for effective teamwork among multidisciplinary professionals to enhance quality care and health/system outcomes.
  • Nursing Leadership: The role of nurse leaders in driving innovation and change within/across healthcare organisations.
  • Sustainable Healthcare Services: Exploring how nursing can contribute to sustainable practices in healthcare.

 

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  1. Please read and follow the guidelines below when writing your abstract.
  2. Click here to submit your abstract.
  3. The abstract must be relevant to one of the conference sub-themes listed above. Authors are asked to indicate which of the ten sub-themes is the most relevant to their abstract.
  4. The material in the abstract should be of original work with the focus of the abstract clearly stated in the title.
  5. The abstract must not be published or presented elsewhere.
  6. The abstract can be submitted in ONE of the following presentation preferences:
    • Oral presentation (research / non-research)
    • Poster presentation (research / non-research)
  7. The abstract must be written in English and should not exceed 300 words.
  8. Abstracts must be structured under the following headings:
    Research abstract
    • Purpose of the study
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Implications for future nursing
    Non-research abstract
    • Purpose
    • Programmes/Strategies/Policy processes
    • Outcomes
    • Implications for future nursing

 

Next Steps Following Abstract Submission

  1. Receipt of abstracts will be acknowledged via email from the CUHK Nursing conference (nur-conference@cuhk.edu.hk).
  2. Applicants will be notified of the decision of the Scientific Subcommittee by 31 October 2025.
  3. The presenting author of the selected abstract must register for the conference before 1 March 2026. Accepted abstracts will be eliminated from the programme after this date if registration and fee payment have not been received.

Abstract Assessment Criteria

Submissions for research-based abstracts will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the conference theme: How well the abstract aligns with the conference theme and subthemes.
  • Scientific merit: The quality and rigour of the research design, methodology, and analysis presented.
  • Contribution to knowledge: The extent to which the submission advances understanding in the field or addresses significant gaps in existing knowledge.
  • Implications for innovation and impact: The potential of the research to foster innovation, influence nursing practice, or drive meaningful change in healthcare.
  • Clarity of abstract: The coherence, precision, and organisation of the abstract.


For non-research abstracts, the evaluation will focus on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the conference theme: How well the abstract aligns with the conference theme and sub-themes.
  • Description of strategies or processes: The clarity and comprehensiveness in describing the initiative, including its methods and implementation.
  • Evidence of the initiative’s impact: The presence of data, outcomes, or examples that demonstrate the effectiveness of the initiative.
  • Practical significance: The relevance and applicability of the initiative to professional practice, policy, or education in nursing.
  • Clarity of abstract: The coherence, precision, and organisation of the abstract.
