Early Career Researcher Scholarship

We are excited to announce the Early Career Researcher Scholarship, designed to support emerging researchers in advancing their careers by facilitating participation in the Eighth Pan-Pacific Nursing Conference cum Second Cochrane Hong Kong Symposium.

The scholarship aims to recognise an outstanding empirical research abstract submitted by an early career researcher who has obtained their doctoral qualification within the past 5 years. It seeks to foster their long-term engagement with the conference and its commitment to empirical science within the broad domain of nursing and evidence-based practice.

To verify eligibility, applicants may be required to submit a verification letter or an official identification document from a recognised institution confirming the completion date of their doctoral qualification.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

  • Authorship and presentation: The applicant must be both the first author and the presenting author of a paper accepted for oral presentation at the conference (limit of one entry per person).
  • Early career definition: Applicants are considered “Early Career” if they completed their doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, DN) within the past 5 years (documentation may be requested).
  • Evaluation criteria: Only accepted abstracts for oral presentation (research type) from individuals who have indicated their eligibility for this scholarship will be evaluated by the selection panel based on the following criteria:
    • Originality: The extent to which the research introduces novel ideas, approaches, or perspectives.
    • Methodological rigour: The quality and appropriateness of the research design, methods, and analysis.
    • Innovation and impact: The extent to which the research introduces novel ideas, approaches, or perspectives that advance nursing or evidence-based practice, or its potential or demonstrated impact on nursing and evidence-based practice, particularly in practical or applied settings.
